Embroidering on a Softball!

This is my first time embroidering on any kind of ball. It took me 3 tries till I felt I had my design just the way I wanted it.  I made this one up for my daughter, who plays on her high school's varsity team.  If you want to try embroidering on a ball there is a great group on facebook to join with useful tips called Embroidering On Baseballs. Toddler Easter Gift

Softball / Baseball Bag

Softball season is fast approaching and I wanted to make a bag for my youngest to keep and carry her stuff in.  I found once you figure out the main bag making process you can apply that to almost any bag and start making them in any size and add as many pockets as you want to fit your needs. I used a thick durable outdoor fabrics for the exterior of this bag, since it will be dragged around a lot. Duck cloth is also a good material to use.

The front side.  I know it may be hard to see... But the stitch around the letters mimics softball stitching.

The backside. This is a large pocket on the back for her to keep her shirt in.  That way come game day all her stuff is together.

Pockets on each side to store sun lotion and sun glasses.

On the inside I created a divider to give her a spot for her water bottle. The other side she can store her glove and cap.

Bonus item....  Vinyl chapstick holder.  Made in the hoop with a file from EmbroideryGarden.com

What a Hoot!

I embroidered this owl onto a shirt for my youngest daughter.  Got the design from Urban Threads.  By the way they have a sale going on right now.  Buy one design get one free. :)

Up-cycled Jean Bag

Here is a bag I made for a good friend from some old jeans. No pattern used on this.  Just improvisiation and creativity. 

Playing Around with Felting.

I decided to play around with felting. I cut out this design on a piece of paper with my Cricut to use as a template.  This was really fun to do.  Then my daughter sewed it into a pillow. 

Fleece Baby Blanket

Here is a fleece baby blanket I made for my nephew.  It is made using appliqué designs from Anita Goodesign's Baby Zoo Animals.
